Now With 2 Day Passes!
Registration for Whose Turn 2018 is now open.
Whose Turn Is It Anyway 2018 will be held in the Junior Ballroom at the Durham Convention Center (DCC) Thursday, January 25th through Sunday, January 28th, 2018. Unlike previous years, we will have to close the gaming hall (most likely around 2am or 3am) each night and re-open at 9am the next day, with a final closing at Midnight on Sunday.
First, the most important tidbits:
Pre-Registration is Required – There is no “at the door” registration.
Early Registration deadline is November 1st. Registration is $10 less (for four day passes) if you register by November 1st.
Registration Deadline is January 20th, 2018 – Only those who have registered by January 20th, 2018 will be admitted
Web Site Usernames
It may have been a while since you’ve logged into the new web site. Even if you plan to register right before early registration ends, please take a moment to ensure you can log in. If you’re not using a handy password manager (I love LastPass!) you may have forgotten your username. For some of you, it will be in the format of “FirstName LastName”. For others, it may be your email address or some other username you chose when setting up the account. If you try a few iterations and can’t get logged in, drop me an email and I’ll fill you in on your username. The inability to recover usernames is, unfortunately, one of the sacrifices made in setting up the new site last year.
Two Day Passes
One of the most often requested new “features” is now available. In the past, we’ve been hesitant to allow 2-day passes for a number of reasons. One of the primary being we were concerned we wouldn’t be able to pay for space and/or it would get too crowded on the weekend when we would see an increase in attendance. Based on our most recent survey results and the huge space we have at the DCC, we’re ready to give this a try.
Two Day Passes are available for “Thurs/Fri”, “Fri/Sat”, or “Sat/Sun”. Owners of two day passes will be able to join in from open to close on each of those days only. No exceptions will be made!! (i.e. please don’t ask if you can “come for a couple of hours on Friday night” even though you only purchased a Sat/Sun pass). These are the only combinations available and Three Day Passes don’t exist. If you want to game for more than those two days, you will need to purchase a four day pass.
Now is your chance to invite your board gaming friends who can only make it for part of the time (or just aren’t as hardcore as you!)
Plenty of Room For More!
Now’s the time to fill your friends in so that they can take advantage of the early registration discount!
With over 12,000 square feet at the Durham Convention Center, we have elbow room to spare! There will be plenty of room for all of your board gaming friends, as well as the games you want to play.
We have worked out group rates with both the convention hotel (Marriott City Center) and another hotel close by (The Durham Hotel). You can see the details and book a room at this page .
